(June 2021) Ms. Barbara Mendolla, principal of County Prep High School, is pleased to congratulate CP student Verona Morcos upon her recent community service achievement. Verona earned her Eagle Scout Award and is one of the first female Eagle Scouts in Hudson County. She earned 37 merit badges. As part of her service project, Verona states, “I wanted to do something that served those who are often forgotten. In my local church, there is a group of kids, teens, and adults (ages 5-25). They all have special needs…So my project was to transform a storage room into their own classroom with sensory toys, books and educational equipment. I even recorded lessons for those who are blind. I got a team and did my own fundraising methods and the room is now done and ready for the kids to use with joy.”
