Greg Hanconx and Carolyn DeWolf from the Youth Transitions to Work (YTTW) Stage Hand Technician Program presented to students at County Prep High School on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. This is a “LEARN WHILE YOU EARN” program that provides outreach, training, and placements for students interested in becoming a Stage Hand Technician in the entertainment industry. It is an alternative pathway that combines college credits and work experience to obtain an industry valued credential at the conclusion of the program.
Students were invited to further explore this post-secondary career pathway by participating in tours of various performing arts facilities, lighting companies, and other venues at which they would be working. Overall, it was an invaluable Work-Based Learning experience (WBL) for our students.
