FCCLA Conference uses Virtual Platform

Camila Ramos a sophomore at County Prep High School wins 1st place gold medal at the FCCLA spring conference in the fashion construction event. She now moves on to the national competition representing County Prep and the State of New Jersey.

Camila did not let the transition to a virtual competition stop her; in addition to fulfilling the traditional requirements of the highly competitive fashion construction event, Camila rose to the challenge of adapting her project to compete virtually.

Fashion Construction is an individual event that recognizes participants who apply garment construction skills learned in their fashion program and create a display using samples of their skills. Using new materials, participants construct in advance a garment of high standards, cost analysis of garment, fabric profiles and a business plan. Students are required to present their project in a verbal presentation.
