Fashion Design Students Use Natural Resources to Print Fabric
Synthetic dye was not created until 1856; until then, the dye was made by using natural resources. County Prep’s fashion students, under the direction of Mrs. Patten, used a simple pounding technique to transfer the color pigment from flowers, leaves, stems, weeds, and grass onto fabric, creating one-of-a-kind unique fabric designs. Upon completion of the fabric, the students constructed eco-friendly tote bags.
