County Prep AV Students Capture “A Taste of Jersey City” for Youth Foundation Partnership

County Prep AV Students Capture “A Taste of Jersey City” for Youth Foundation PartnershipOn October 6th, County Prep High School’s Audio Visual Production students participated in a Work-Based Learning (WBL) experience with the Youth Foundation of Jersey City, providing full media coverage for the organization’s annual “Taste of Jersey City” event. The collaboration was made possible through our ongoing partnership with Executive Director Hollie Meyer, who works closely with our students to create meaningful, real-world production opportunities.

The event brought together local restaurants, chefs, and community members to celebrate the vibrant food culture of Jersey City. Our AV students were on-site to document the evening through both video and photography, capturing everything from behind-the-scenes preparation to interviews with participants and guests.

Working as part of a professional production team, students applied their classroom knowledge in real time—handling cameras, setting up shots, managing lighting, and crafting visual stories that showcased the community event. This opportunity allowed them to gain practical experience in event coverage and client-based production, while also strengthening their communication and teamwork skills.

Through the guidance of Hollie Meyer and the Youth Foundation team, students learned the expectations of professional media work and saw firsthand how creativity, professionalism, and technical skill come together to produce high-quality content.

County Prep is proud of our AV students for representing the school with excellence, and for continuing to demonstrate how Career and Technical Education connects classroom learning with meaningful community and career experiences.
