On October 1st, County Prep's Junior and Senior photography students, along with instructors Gerard Patten, Dimitri Rodriguez, and chaperone Milena Gangala, embarked on a field trip to New York City to capture visuals at the World Trade Center and Little Island. Using school-issued cameras, the students applied their classroom knowledge to real-world photography.
The day began at the World Trade Center, where students explored its architecture and history while practicing techniques like leading lines, symmetry, and framing. They delved into architectural, documentary, and street photography in the bustling area.
In the afternoon, they visited Little Island, a floating park on the Hudson River, where they experimented with landscape and portrait photography, utilizing natural light and creative angles. The students collaborated, shared tips, and deepened their appreciation for urban landscapes.
Upon returning from the trip, students were excited to review their photos and reflect on their experiences. Mr. Patten thanked everyone involved, noting that the trip provided valuable hands-on learning and lasting memories.
